A Christmas Carol
Dickens classic tale of redemption is brought to life by Gary Whitaker’s heart rending oral performance.
In full period costume the Storyman brings Dicken’s Classic story to life. This is a family friendly program but it is not a kiddie program. It is performed with heart and soul on the storyman’s sleeve. A powerful performance bringing the story and characters to life and making it feel very personal. The storyman limits this program to 5 shows in December. Book him early. The program is approximately one hour long. .

Sleepy Hollow
The legend of Sleepy Hollow is a stand-alone program. The Storyman brings this classic tale to life in his oral retelling. Like Irving’s tale, it is a fun detailed expression of life in the late 1700s and it is entertaining. This program is performed in a period-correct costume. (40’min) a fun ghost story for the family. Schools, libraries, and festivals.

Once upon a Time with Medieval Max
Medieval Max presents two programs for younger and older kids. Two very different classic stories .
For the younger audiences (ages 6 to 12)
Max performs Edmund Leamy’s Irish Fairy Tale “Princess Finola and the Dwarf”
For older kids (12-up)
Max presents the ancient Northern saga “Sigurd the Dragon Slayer” which comes from Volsung Saga.
This is a story that JRR Tolkien drew heavily from in the writing of the Lord of the Rings.
In both programs Max involves his audience in the telling of these stories through the use of drums and hand percussion instruments. The 3 small Drums serve as the heart beat of these stories and the hand percussion shakers to emphasize specific characters in these story.
The students will be assigned different characters from the story and when mentioned they will shake their shakers.
After completing the stories Max follows with a short discussion about the stories themes with his audience.
There is also a display used with the story that is symbolic of the magical elements of the stories
(a foam sword and Shield)
Both programs are performed in medieval costume.
