What is a Storyteller?
A person who orally tells a story in their own words. The storyteller does NOT read a book to their audience. A storyteller is a performer.
The Storyman has performed a multitude of programs over the years in schools, libraries and at Festivals.
His audience covers 1st grade kids to adults. He specialize in middle school age groups.
He will costume for a specific program if asked to.

The Storyman will perform live Zoom programs at a discount. He will also film specific programs to be loaded onto Vimeo and accessed via limited code access but not at a discount.

Life Tales
Gary Whitaker the storyman shares personal stories about his life adventures. A storyteller with 30 years experience as a teller and over 72 lifetime experience. This was formally ‘The Good, Bad & Ugly’ program. The Storyman is a family man married 50 years, raised two kids, and is now enjoying 4 grandkids. Born in 1951 he shares life tales from his childhood, teen years, married life, parenthood, and being a grandfather. Because his stories are based on personal adventures they also reflect the times in which the story takes place. He has an aged face and a voice full of mystery that makes ghost stories come to life with nearly 30 years of personal experience.
The Storyman does all kinds of Ghost stories, Fun, spooky, and scary. (No kindergarten) Schools, libraries, scouts, and festivals.
Sleepy Hollow
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a stand-alone program. The Storyman brings this classic tale to life in his oral retelling. Like Irving’s tale, it is a fun detailed expression of life in the late 1700s and it is entertaining. This program is performed in a period-correct costume. (40’min) a fun ghost story for the family. Shiny Buzzard’s Texas Folk Tales
Shiny Buzzard will bring Texas Folk Tales Alive for kids, Youth, and Adults. While in full-period costume. Texas Folk tales have a rich history of pioneer stories based on life experiences which include pitch battles with Indians, and survival stories that also include bears, wolves, and other critters. The storyman will open the door to our rich past by blending history with folk tales. Schools, libraries, retirement facilities, scouts, and festivals.
Medieval Max Presents Medieval Legends for Kids and Youth
Max just doesn’t tell the story but helps his young listeners to understand and enjoy them. He breaks down the stories and simplifies them to make them easier to understand. Max’s animated style of telling will keep his audience laughing and interested.
